About Elisha S Lee
I chose to become a Licensed Counselor because I have a strong desire to help people go from a place of pain to a place of healing. I am dedicated, empathetic, and passionate about helping individuals overcome life’s challenges and achieve personal growth. In addition to being a licensed counselor, I am also an ordained minister, motivational speaker, author, and host of a Podcast, Elisha’s Space that can be heard on all major platforms.
My specialties include depression, anxiety, and trauma. These specialties are near and dear to me because so many people have experienced significant pauses in their individual lives as a result of one of these specialties. My desire is to partner with you in recovering from the hiccup that is preventing you from going forward. I have a passion to get to the root of the matter in what is causing the pain as well as dealing with the symptoms. I view our time together as taking a journey as you move forward in your path of healing. I partner with you no matter where the journey takes you.
It Runs in The Family
My mother is a psychologist and I swore to myself that I would never go into counseling because I wanted to forge my own individual path. My mother used to tell me that she thought I would most likely be in a similar field as she is because I have a heart for people who are brokenhearted. She was correct.
I forged my own path by studying a biblically based approach to assisting others. I am a strong advocate of the Arno Profile System and believe Temperament Theory is the best way to approach therapy. I have also used other models in sessions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution Based Therapy, Emotion Regulation Therapy, and Positive Psychology.
I believe in creating a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I value collaboration and work alongside my clients to help them gain insight, develop new skills, and create lasting change. b
Life Brought Me Down This Path
As a single mom, I can relate to how life’s many roles at one time can lead to worry, stress, anxiety, and depression. You spend so much time caring for others to the degree to where you neglect yourself. You want to put yourself to bed after the little one goes to bed but can’t because you have other responsibilities within your day to complete. It’s not easy. I have learned the importance of self-care and balance in everyday life.
With that said, my free time is mostly spent with my family. I have a heart for families and enjoy mine. I don’t believe anything happens by mistake and that there is meaning in relationships. My time with my family is treasured as I see them as being a gift from God.
My Faith
My relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important and meaningful relationship in my life. He is my Hope and Who I run to daily. I enjoy reading the Bible and get excited when I receive a greater understanding of how treasured I am in God’s sight as well as an understanding of my authority in the Kingdom of God. One of the meaningful lessons I have learned as a result of my faith is to not settle. I also enjoy seeing others grow in their personal relationships with God and walk in the freedom that Christ has called them to walk into.
I look forward to assisting you as you move from a place of hurting to healing.
